A Very Late 13 Best of 2013!

Wednesday, 29 January 2014

Hey everyone, hope you're all well. You may or may not have noticed I haven't posted for a while which is down to a combination of things. Namely having a bad time at my job and having to quit, being a busy third year university student and some exciting goings on which have meant I haven't been able to blog as much as I'd like. I'm hoping now this will change as I've really missed posting and thought i'd start my return by doing my belated 13 favourites of 2013. As everyone says, it's so hard to narrow it down to just 13 products so I really tried to pick the ones that absolutely stood out over everything else and managed to eventually whittle it down to these!

1) Benefit Porefessional & MAC Refined Zone Primer (not pictured) - This may be cheating a bit but this combination of primers is my absolute favourite. I find the Porefessional is great at hiding any pesky visible pores around my nose whilst the MAC is amazing at reducing shine and mattifying any oily patches of skin for longer lasting make-up.

2) Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation - Sticking along the theme of long lasting make up, I adore this foundation! Not only does it stick around for hours but it contains SPF which is great for daytime, is a perfect colour match and gives great coverage without looking too unnatural. The only downside for me is that it's unavaliable in the UK but if I ever visit the US I'll definitely be stocking up!

3) Loreal Nude Magique BB Powder - I really like this powder for looking really natural whilst helping with any oil control on my face. It photographs nicely and sits well on the skin whilst not being too expensive or clogging my pores. The only negative is that the shade range is limited to around two. They are fairly adaptable but if you have a medium-dark skintone, I'm not 100% sure this could work for you.

4) Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder (White) - This is one of my favourite discoveries of the whole year. The perfect powder for under eyes as it not only sets the area beautifully to allow a crease-free finish but also further brightens any undereye dark circles left after concealer. I will definitely continue to repurchase this throughout 2014!

5) Illamasqua Blush in Tremble - I have to admit, I'm not someone who always wears blush but when I do, this is the one I reach for 90% of the time. It's such a pretty, wearable peachy pink that I can't imagine looking bad on anyone. When my face needs perking up it's the one i'll always choose. I love it because it's the most long lasting brand of blush I own and it's matte so doesn't leave too much shimmer on my face. Highly recommend this!

6) MAC Patisserie Lipstick - This is definitely my all-time favourite everyday shade. It's basically a much easier way of wearing nude as it's a pinky brown shade which doesn't wash me out or look too unnatural. It provides a bit of a sheen and a wash of colour and for someone who finds nudes just don't work for them I find this perfect.

7) MAC Sable Eyeshadow - The perfect plummy toned shimmery brown. It's a hard to describe shade but it's great all over the lid or in the crease and I find it works well with practically any colour I wear. Seriously beautiful and I use it quite a lot!

8) MAC All That Glitters Eyeshadow - My favourite all over the lid, everyday colour. This is a colour I will always repurchase and that gets the most love from me! It's a really lovely pinky gold colour that is super flattering.

9) Stila All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner - This year brought about a new love of liquid eyeliner that I'd never had before and it's all because of this baby! It's a really opaque, slightly glossy black and I find the thin nib of the felt tip applicator makes application so much easier. The only negative is it does take a minute or two to dry so I do tend to wait before curling my lashes.

10) Soap & Glory Archery Brow Pencil & Liner - Another one of my favourite discoveries of the year. I never really heard this talked about but I absolutely love it. I also own the Hourglass Brow Sculpter but find this so much better. You get a felt tip applicator on one end which is great for sparser areas of brow where I need to mimic hairs and then a really pigmented pencil which leaves an amazing finish on the brows. So, so good!

11) YSL Babydoll Mascara - Although expensive, this was definitely my favourite mascara of the year. I'm still not sure if this is 'the one' but it's one of the best ones I've used for creating a slight curl, adding length and volume. It leaves a really nice finish and has left me wanting to try every YSL mascara there is now too.

12) Bumble & Bumble Dryspun Finish Spray - I've gotten through around 3 cans of that this year as I just can't leave without big hair. This stuff is really good at just adding some texture and volume to the roots and ends and creating good bed hair. I'm not 100% sure I prefer this to the Oribe offering but at £17 cheaper it's definitely worth it!

13) Models Own Hedonist, Topshop Celestial & Barry M LE Holographic Silver Glitter - As you may be able to tell, I've massively cheated here. But who realistically can be just one nail polish for the whole year?! It was hard enough to get it to three.. But anyway! These were the three that stood out to me. Hedonist is an incredible neon red shade that I could barely take off all summer. Topshop Celestial is probably my joint favourite shade ever with it as an amazing cornflower blue shade that works any season. Finally, I picked up this Barry M LE Shade (with no name) towards the end of the year and it is THE most amazing glitter - it's like a silver toned rainbow on the nails! I must have stocked up on around five so if you can find it i'd definitely recommend it.

So that's my (sort of) 13 favourites of 2013. I'd love to know what you think of any of these products or what you're favourite products were and i'll hopefully be back soon with another post! Thanks for reading :)

My Favourite Long Lasting Foundations (Mainly Drugstore)

Thursday, 21 November 2013

Hi everyone! Today I wanted to speak to you about a few foundations I've been loving lately. As someone with oily/combination skin, I'm constantly on the hunt for a long-lasting foundation. I'm really not one for touching up my make up so for me it's essential and anything that can last well on my oily nose goes down very well for me. I've tried a lot of foundations, both high end (such as EL Doublewear, MAC Studio Fix) and drugstore. I'd given up a lot of hope on ever finding any but this year, so many amazing foundations were released and now, I struggle to choose a favourite. The best part is, almost all of them are drugstore and I can honestly say I find the quality and lasting power is 10x better than any high end foundation I've used.

Max Factor Whipped Creme Foundation £9.99 - I was pretty aprhensive about this foundation as the only similar foundation I've used was the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse, which didn't work out too well. But this foundation is so lovely. The texture is really unique, but it makes it blend so effortlessly into the skin. It provides a medium matte coverage which can be built up but remains looking pretty natural and not at all cakey on the skin at all. You also don't need to use a lot of it because of it's blend-ability and it lasts about 6-7 hours on my skin without powdering. If you've been scared to try it, I would definitely suggest giving it a go.

& Other Stories All Day Perfecting Foundation £15 - This foundation is a really nice, long lasting option for those of you who prefer more of a satin/dewy finish. Of the four I have to say this is probably the only one I wouldn't repurchase as it is a lot more expensive and isn't quite the finish I like the best. However, it's got a really good medium coverage with a wear time of around 6 hours and definitely my favourite of the high ends foundations I've tried.

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation £4.80 - I absolutely adore this stuff. This is one of my all time favourite everyday foundations now alongside the last offering. It lasts amazingly well, we're talking around 8-9 hours without repowdering and is such a beautiful finish. It's more of a light matte finish but looks pretty natural, just like your skin but perfected. It's not avaliable in the UK but you can order it on ebay (for 3x the price, annoyingly). I'm definitely going to be picking up a few if I ever go back to America!

Barry M Flawless Matte Finish Oil-Free Foundation £5.99 - This is an equally amazing foundation that I really didn't expect to love as much as I do. I'd also definitely repurchase this foundation, I use it really regularly as I know I can rely on it to last me all day. The weartime is also around 8-9 hours on my skin and applies really evenly and easily. It offers a good medium, buildable coverage that remains natural on the skin.

So the two cheapest foundations are my favourite, who would have guessed! I'd definitely advice trying these before forking out double or triple the price for something that in my experience doesn't work or last nowhere near as well. I hope this helped some of you struggling to find something that works and those of you on a budget! Just for reference, I tend to use Benefit Porefessional or MAC Refined Zone Primer under them. Please let me know any posts you'd like to see :)

Mini Life Update & Current Favourites!

Sunday, 29 September 2013

Hi everyone! Thought I would do a quick post on an update of what's being going on and why I haven't been posting as regularly as of late. In a nutshell, it's been a very hectic few weeks consisting mainly of working a lot. As some of you may know my actual job is at Space NK part time but I also work at a festival in Surrey called Redfest over the summer doing interviewing which took up a lot of time to prepare for and then work a lot whilst I was there. It was a really exciting weekend consisting mainly of making some new friends, partying in the pit watching Bastille and meeting some of my favourite artists and was such an amazing time which gave me serious post festival blues! In other exciting news I also found out the other day that I'll be doing an internship at Harpers Bazaar's beauty department next Summer which I am so, so excited for as it's pretty much my dream to work at a magazine as a beauty writer one day. So just thought I should offer a slight explanation of why i've been so terrible with updating my blog lately and hope you all understand! I'm now back to blogging as much as I can whilst finishing my last year at uni and glad to finally be back :)

I thought since it had been such a break, I would talk about some of my current favourites.

Illamasqua Blush in Tremble (£18) - I got this a while ago when Illamasqua did a flash sale of all the products for 50% off totally on a whim and it's quickly become one of my all time favourite blushes. It's the perfect matte corally pink shade that I find so flattering in any season providing the perfect flush to the cheeks. The quality is amazing too, it's extremely pigmented so I barely need any, lasts a really long time on the cheeks and weirdly smells incredible!

MAC Blush in Harmony (£18) - I love this as a great multi purpose product as I use it as a contour and a blush. It's a really nice shade, not too warm or cool and a nice mid tone brown so works nicely to provide a matte shadow in the contours or used lightly as a blush if I have a heavy eye look or bold lip on.

Topshop Eyeshadow Trio in Orion (£14) - Other than my MAC palette which I obviously put together myself it's safe to say that this is my all time favourite eye palette. I cannot fault these shadows at all, they are perfect shimmery shades and amazing quality too. There's a deep purple/aubergiene colour, a cross between a golden silvery shade and a light champagne which allow for so many different but beautiful looks. They are so pigmented and wearable and I can see me reaching for this even more in Autumn/Winter.

Hydraluron (£24.99) - I have to admit that I totally gave into the hype with this one! I put off buying it for the longest time due to the slightly high end price tag but decided to cave when Boots recently had it for a third off and I'm so glad I did. This stuff is definitely my new addiction, it leaves my skin feeling so soft and hydrated the next day and has really helped balance out my skin's condition also. Love!

YSL Babydoll Mascara (£24.50) - Another blogger influenced purchase! I've been lusting over YSL mascara's for as long as I can remember as I've not really tried many high end mascara's and theirs have always looked amazing on other people so I decided to bite the bullet and try it out. This is definitely one of my favourites, it adds so much length and volume whilst holding a curl pretty well in my abnormally straight lashes.

Loreal Super Liner Perfect Slim (£6.99) - I'd spent so many years avoiding ever wearing liquid liner due to my terrible technique but when a lovely rep from By Terry came into store and taught me exactly how to do it I was determined to practice and master it, even if it took me years! I've been wearing it everyday and finding that this one being a pen has really helped me to get it quite even. I'm by no means perfect but i've really enjoyed the challenge and this liner a lot.

Soap & Glory Archery Brow Tint and Pencil in Brownie Points (£10) - I'm always on the hunt for products that give me the perfect natural yet thick brow look and I've been so impressed with this. It has a felt tip pen on one end and a waxy pencil on the other which may sound a bit scary but it does such an amazing job. I especially love the pen end as it doesn't come out a really dark, unflattering colour but more of a lightish buildable cool toned brown that helps imitate hairs where needed and draw a precise outline of the shape I need my brows to be. I then take the other end or my Hourglass Brow Sculptor and just feel in any sparse areas and I feel like my brows are better than they've ever been, it's amazing!

Please let me know what your favourites have been, I feel I'm so behind on beauty products lately and would love to hear what you've all been loving!

June Favourites

Wednesday, 3 July 2013

Hi everyone! I thought this month I would do something a little different for my blog and post a monthly favourites. I don't tend to do these as regularly as I don't seem to have stand out products every single month but this month in particular I have noticed a few products that I've used over and over that I wanted to share with you all.

L-R MAC Syrup, BECCA Luminous Skin Tint, Topshop Orion Trio, & Other Stories Foundation in 2, MAC Royal Sunset.

Starting with make up the first thing I have been loving this month is this Topshop Eyeshadow Trio in Orion. I hadn't actually heard anyone mention this before I bought it but whilst doing some online shopping a while ago I spotted it and knew it had to be mine. It has three very pigmented, metallic shades including a champagne, a golden taupe and a deep cranberry toned purple which are my favourite kinds of shades to wear and I've worn it pretty consistently all month.
Next is my favourite blush of the month, MAC Royal Sunset from the All About Orange collection. I may have to do a full review of this as I think it may have beaten the now discontinued MAC Coygirl to the favourite blush spot. I've literally worn it every day since I got it and I'm in love with it!
Lipstick wise I've loved MAC Syrup, a nice mauvy toned neutral. This is definitely my favourite everyday lipstick and better still I didn't pay for it as I got it through back to MAC. It's a lustre finish so it's very light and sheer on the lips, perfect for summer.
For my base, I've really enjoyed using the BECCA Luminous Skin Tint in Porcelain (SPF 25+) on my days off as an extremely light, sheer foundation just to even out my skin tone. It's such a beautiful luminous finish without making me oily and is pretty much undetectable on the skin due to how sheer it is but I love it. On longer days such as ones where I'm working, I've enjoyed using the & Other Stories All Day Perfecting Foundation (SPF 15). I've not heard anything about this either and picked it up on a complete whim but it's amazing! It lasts far longer than any other foundation has on my skin whilst looking pretty natural and not overly matte. I've also loved my Benefit Porefessional as always for keeping my make up looking fresh for longer, a full review can be found here.
Finally for makeup, Lo'real Voluminous Mascara has been great for holding a curl in my lashes. I have naturally very long but completely straight lashes so anything that slightly curls them goes down very well with me!

L - R TRESemme Divine Definition Spray, The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream, Bumble and Bumble Bb Texture Creme, Topshop AWOL, Stella Summer Rose.

Non make up wise I have been loving wavy, beachy hair and for this the combination of the TRESemme Divine Definition Spray and the Bumble & Bumble Bb Texture Creme have been amazing. I firstly use the Bumble and Bumble when my hair is wet by scrunching it into the ends of my hair then use the spray after my hair is styled to make my hair more voluminous and a bit messier and find it works really well to make my hair a little more wavy than it naturally would be.
In terms of my nails I haven't been able to take Topshop AWOL off them! This colour is so amazing and alongside my all time favourite Celestial I've never had so many compliments on my nail colour. It's an amazing bright cobalt blue and the finish of Topshop polishes are always super shiny and long lasting.
For perfume I've been using my Stella Summer Rose perfume all month. As the name suggests it's a beautiful floral scent that I find so pretty on any summer occasion, plus I adore the bottle.
Finally to help keep my skin matte all day I've used The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream. This stuff is amazing, I've never found a moisturizer that leaves my skin less oily. Unfortunately, the ingredients aren't the most amazing with a few parabens lurking around and the lack of SPF means you do need to add one before or after but for the purpose of mattifying, I cannot fault it.

In terms of a couple of random favourites, I've rekindled my love for The OC. I was once obsessed with this show (and Seth Cohen) and rewatching the series has definitely reignited my love for the programme (and Seth Cohen again). Music wise I'd definitely recommend checking out OneRepublic and Kodaline's new albums as they are both incredible bands and I cannot stop obsessing over either!

Sorry for the incredibly long post everyone, please let me know what your favourites were this month too! Hope you all had a good June! :)

Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer

Tuesday, 26 February 2013

Today I thought I'd share with you the first of my reviews on my recent beauty buys the Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer. Until I saw this on a blog a little while ago I'd really heard nothing about this concealer but had heard a lot about the foundation. I've never tried the foundation itself as from what I hear it's better on more normal/dry skintypes and I tend to go for matter bases to help with my oilier nose which is vastly becoming the bane of my life!

I'll start off by saying this is most definitely a rave review from me. I've tried so so many concealers and this is definitely an all time favourite. I'd say in terms of shade it's a pretty neural colour, neither too pink nor too yellow which should please a variety of people. I wear the shade 'Ivory' which is the lightest shade and one major disappointment with this shade as I see with most drugstore concealers is there are only three shades, not ideal!

The consistency is pretty light which is key for me. I have some mild milia under my eyes so anything that isn't too heavy works a lot better for my skin. The concealers I buy are always for the purpose of using under the eye so I can't comment on how this fairs on covering on other areas of the skin but this is fantastic as an undereye concealer! It lightens and brightens, the main thing I look for in my concealers, whilst offering a good coverage with a natural finish and blends beautifully into my skin without going at all cakey, something I found begun to happen with my Collection concealers and the Maybelline Lumi Touch.

The applicator is a little like the Lumi Touch and the Collection Illuminating Touch in the straw like end which with those you twist to get product out but with this you squeeze it. I like these type of applicators as I find them far easier to get the right amount of product and more hygienic too.

Before with no makeup

After with concealer and foundation

You may be able to tell that I have lines under my eyes but I can confirm that this isn't a fault in the concealer setting into lines, my eyes always have creases there with and without makeup (lucky me at the grand old age of almost 21!). Honestly I will repurchase this again and again as the only thing I've found that is on par with it is the Origins concealer (£16) and this is £5.99!

Have you tried this? What's your favourite undereye concealer?

2012 Favourites: Nails

Wednesday, 9 January 2013

Barry M Berry Ice Cream - You probably can't tell because I've shaken up the bottle so much, but this is one of my most used nail varnishes. It's one of the only ones I've ever used up completely and repurchased (something that needs to happen again soon!). It's a beautiful light, bright lavender with a hint of greyish undertones in my opinion and a colour that I find goes with pretty much anything.

Jessica Brilliance Top Coat - I NEVER hear anyone speak about this top coat but it's been my favourite forever. It leaves such a beautiful shiney finish and allows my nail varnish to last so much longer, I've never felt the need to try any other top coat because I don't feel like anything could work as well as this.

OPI Nail Envy - A blogger favourite this product definitely deserves all the hype it gets. First of all, it's lasted me for ages despite using it most weeks as a treatment before painting my nails. It's just done wonders to my nails and I really notice when I haven't used this for a while how much weaker my nails become and how prone they are to breaking.

Topshop Celestial - I've already done a full review of this here but this is literally the most perfect nail varnish I've ever come across. It stands out beautifully and I just find myself reaching for it so much because when I have it on I literally cannot stop staring at my nails (does anyone else do this?!). Definitely an all time favourite and one I will purchase over and over, the formula is also great!

Barry M Pink Flamingo - Another polish from my favourite nail polish brand! This is my favourite pink to wear, I just find it's so flattering and pretty and I love that it leans slightly coral. It's really a stunning pink if you want something that goes with anything you wear

& if you'd like to see my Barry M polish collection with swatches of both the polishes mentioned, please go here :)

2012 Favourites: Face

Monday, 7 January 2013

Clarins Instant Smooth Primer - This favourite is a slight cheat as I've actually only had it a couple of weeks but I'm already in love with it! It's hands down the best primer I've tried, makes my skin look flawless even before foundation and keeps my makeup looking perfect all day

Origins Plantscription Concealer - I was a bit wary of purchasing this product as it was my first venture into Origins makeup line but since I love so much of their skincare, I thought I would buy it on a whim. After using this for a few months, I can completely confirm that this is worth it's price tag. I only use concealer under my eyes and it does a perfect job of hiding dark circles, not creasing and not looking cakey under the eye. I'd highly recommend!

YSL Touche Eclat Foundation - I have to say, it's only now that I'm going through testing a load of different foundation as since this came out, I haven't really used anything else up until about 2 weeks ago. It adds such a beautiful radiance to the skin and looks very natural which is what I look for in an everyday foundation. The only downside I find and the only reason I'm trying different foundations now is the fact I can't wear it on a night out (spf ghostface anyone?) and that it isn't always as long wearing as I'd like. Other than that, it is an incredible product I've loved this year

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in 'Medium' - This product is always a favourite of mine that I've loved for years - it helps my makeup to last far longer without looking cakey or too overdone on my skin. One I will repurchase over and over.

MAC Blush in 'Coygirl' - If you've read my blog for a while you'll know how much I adore this shade. I find it works beautifully on my pale complexion to add the right amount of flushed colour. I won't say too much as I've already spoken about it here in my favourite blushes and in my MAC favourites post

I apologize for the length of this post, as you can probably tell this is one of my favourite categories of products! What are your favourite face products of the year? :)

2012 Favourites: Body, Hair & Fragrance

Sunday, 6 January 2013

Soap and Glory Scrub Em and Leave Em - I've done a full in depth review of this scrub here so all I'll say is that it works wonders on any rough skin I have and smells incredible, I will always repurchase this over and over

Armani Code & Paco Rabanne Lady Million - This are my favourite perfumes as mentioned in my perfume collection, both smell amazing and I find I always receive compliments on my scent when I wear either of these, I will never be without them

Toni & Guy Cleanse Shampoo (Detox) - I discovered this product later in the year but it's become a staple in my haircare routine. It's similar to the Bumble & Bumble Sunday Shampoo and the Phyto offering, but for a huge fraction of the price. It has a far nicer scent in my opinion (aka, not overly herbal!) and does a great job of deep cleaning any product build up on my scalp

Moroccan Oil - I'll be honest here, this stuff is pretty expensive but honestly, I don't mind paying extra for something that works this well. It leaves my hair softer than any other product and although I do really like the v05 hair oil, nothing beats this one for me

Soap & Glory Clean Girls Body Wash - Like the body scrub, this product is also scented with the 'mist you madly' fragrance which I'm absolutely in love with. On top of the smell, this shower gel also moisturizes my skin beautifully and leaves it so soft after use

Have you tried any of these products and loved them?

2012 Favourites: Tools

Friday, 4 January 2013

Could not for the life of me get good lighting today, I apologize!

Sigma Large Powder F30 Brush - This is the brush I use to apply my powder and sometimes bronzer all over. The three brushes I talk about in this post are the ones I really couldn't be without as I literally take them everywhere! It apply powder really quickly and flawlessly and it's so soft without shredding.

MAC 187 Brush - This is my Blush brush of choice. I've used this brush for a while after receiving it in a set from the Glitter & Ice collection and haven't put it down since. Other brushes just don't apply my blush as perfectly as this does, it's not so dense it applies too much at once but really helps me to apply colour sheerly and build it up.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush - Despite the majority of people favouring the Buffing brush to apply foundation, I really love the precision and finish this brush offers. I find it gives me a flawless finish it gives as well as the density of it and all the RT brushes are so easy to clean which is an added bonus!

Real Techniques Setting Brush - This brush is amazing for applying concealer under the eyes and setting it with powder. It's the perfect size and so soft it doesn't drag or pull the skin under my eyes when applying product. A total must have

Bourjois Tweezers - Although a lot of people favour Tweezerman's offering, I find these do an amazing job for a fraction of the price. I'll always repurchase these as they've lasted me ages and aren't too expensive

Tweezerman Eyelash Curlers - Something I do own from Tweezerman are their eyelash curlers. After owing them from other brands such as No7, I decided the affordable ones weren't quite cutting it but wasn't quite ready to splash out on Shu Uemura ones so these are a great alternative. They work brilliantly and are now a staple in my collection

I'll be doing these posts every couple of days for the start of January and I'm planning on making it an 7 post series so hope you enjoy! x

2012 Favourites: Eyes

Tuesday, 1 January 2013

Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara - I cannot say enough good things about this! It gives my long, straight lashes the perfect amount of volume and definition and doesn't smudge at all. The only mascara that's ever come close to this is the Benefit They're Real but at £7.99 this is incredible and even better. Definitely my HG!

Elf Eyebrow Gel - I bloody love this stuff, works a dream on taming my eyebrows and keeping them set all day and best of all it's only £1.50! I would never be without this and always have a backup cos no other eyebrow product works this well however much they cost

MAC Espresso - I've spoken about this in more length here but this is my favourite product to use to fill in my brows. It's the perfect matte dark brown and has lasted me for almost two years (I've only just hit pan) and probably will all this year too

MAC Paint Pot in Painterly - I love Painterly mainly for just evening out the skintone on my eyelids up to the brow. It creates the perfect base for eyeshadow and helps it to last a lot longer on my lids and I don't think I'd ever be without it

MAC Eyeshadows in All That Glitters and Sable - As you may have seen from my MAC Favourites, All That Glitters is my all time favourite eyeshadow for the daytime. It really compliments my green eyes and is subtle but so beautiful, I have yet to see this shade not look good on someone! Sable is my favourite autumn/winter shade as it's a plummy brown colour which looks just stunning in the colder months

Hope you all had a wonderful NYE :)

Current Top 5 Blushes

Thursday, 6 December 2012

Hi everyone :)
Today I thought I'd share with you my current 5 favourite blushes. I'm gonna start by being honest here and saying I don't have that many blushes (less than 10 I'm sure) as I tend to only buy colours that are pretty different from eachother!

From L-R: Nars Deep Throat, Nars Sin, MAC Coygirl, Laura Mercier Lush Nectarine, MAC Light Year Msf

Nars Deep Throat - Dodgy name aside, I would probably say this is my all time favourite blush. It's a beautiful warm, light shade of pinky peach with a light shimmer running through that brightens up your face without looking overly shimmery. Although Orgasm is the cult Nars product, I actually much prefer this one, and would definitely repurchase it again and again!

Nars Sin - This is a blush that looks so scary in the pan but once it's applied it is the most perfect plummy colour that looks particularly amazing in the winter. Like Deep Throat, this does have a slight shimmer running through it, but nothing that looks too glitterball on the cheeks. As with all Nars blushes this is super pigmented so if you're fair like me, I'd recommend a light hand.

MAC Coygirl - I have spoken about this before in my MAC favourites so I won't say too much other than this is a lovely matte plummy pink colour and it gives you that perfect flushed look without being overdone. It's such an underrated blush because it is definitely my favourite MAC one I've tried (and I've tried quite a few!)

Laura Mercier Lush Nectarine - I have a confession to make, peachy shades don't often suit me at all. However, thankfully this one has a lot of pink undertones I can just about pull it off. I think this is a shade that would suit a lot of skintones and I would definitely look into more Laura Mercier blushes as they have some lovely shades on offer and this is really pigmented.

MAC Light Year MSF (Limited Edition) - Sorry to be annoying and include a limited edition product but I really do love this msf for a simple sculpting look for the cheeks, especially when I'm wearing an eyeshadow look or a bright lip. It is quite shimmery (being a msf) so I'd avoid highlighter with this one but it is great for days where my skin is looking a little dull as it works great at perking the skin up. If you can find this anyone, I'd highly recommend.

Just as a note, I have to say of all the brands of blush I've tried Nars are definitely my favourite formulations as they are all so pigmented, easy to apply and last longer on me than any other brand :)

Have you tried any of these blushers? What are your favourites?
